ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio men's and women's golf squads will swing back into action this week as they travel to participate in their respective invitationals, hosted by Marshall and Eastern Kentucky.

Bobcat Men: Marshall Invitational
Host: Marshall • April 6-7 • Huntington, W.Va. • Guyan Golf & Country Club

The Ohio men will travel to Huntington, W.Va., for the Marshall Invitational this Friday and Saturday.

The 16-team tourney will be played on the par-71, 6,456-yard Guyan Golf & Country Club. The traditional-style course features medium-sized greens and tree-lined fairways built on rolling terrain.

Ohio will field a line-up of Mark Cimarolli, Ryan Siekmann, Grant Christman, Chad Warmbein, Mark Phillips and James Ellis. Five will play on Ohio's team card and one will compete as an individual.

Among the 16 teams in the tournament, Ohio will compete against fellow Mid-American Conference members Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Miami and Northern Illinois. EMU is the defending tourney champion.

Tournament action will begin with two rounds and a shotgun start on Friday at 8:30 a.m. Saturday's final round will commence at 8 a.m.

Bobcat Women: EKU Spring Invitational
Host: Eastern Kentucky • April 5-7 • Richmond, Ky. • Arlington Golf Course

In its first competition in more than a month, the Ohio women's golf squad will travel to Richmond, Ky., for the EKU Spring Invitational this Thursday through Saturday.

The 12-team tourney will be played on the par-72, 5,906-yard Arlington Golf Course. The fairways of the course consist of Zoysia grass while the typically fast greens are composed of Bent grass, as are the tees. The roughs have Fescue Bluegrass.

The tournament field will also consist of a non-varsity squad of players from Scandinavia.

Ohio will field a line-up of Shanna Siefke, Meredith Waterston, Kristen Mautz, Katie Stafford and Lindsay Bergman.

Tournament action will consist of 18 holes and a 9 a.m., shotgun start each day.
