MALE SCHOLAR ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Week's Achievements: Senior Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C.) secured his second tournament win in the Ohio men's golf team's last three events, tallying a final-round 72 (+1) to finish with a total score of 209 (-4) and securing a three-stroke victory at the Rutherford Intercollegiate on Sunday (April 16) at the Blue Course. White followed up a first-round 69 (-2) with a 68 (-3) in the second, with the latter matching his best round score of 2016-17 campaign. He finished the weekend with a tournament-high 16 birdies and shot -4 on both the par 4s and 5s -- both of which were tops in the field. His score of 209 matched his effort at the EKU Intercollegiate for the eighth-best three-round total in program history. As a team, Ohio took eighth place with a total score of 885 (+33). After combining to card a 294 (+10) in the first round, the Bobcats moved up a spot on the leaderboard into second place with a 286 (+2) on Saturday (April 15). The Bobcats carded a final-round 303 (+19) on Sunday.

Week's Achievements: Senior Emma Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) put together a strong weekend (April 14-15) at the 2017 Charlotte Invitational for the Ohio track & field team, accounting for three of the Bobcats' 12 top-10 finishes. Ryan won the javelin throw with a toss of 41.50 meters. She also placed fourth in the discus throw with a mark of 42.28 meters and seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 41.50 meters.
