ATHENS, Ohio – Paul Grauer of Ohio Men’s Golf has been named the MAC Men’s Golfer of the Week, the Mid-American Conference office announced on Wednesday. The award marks the second time during the 2012 spring season that Grauer has been recognized by the conference.
Paul had an outstanding tournament for the Bobcats at the 2012 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate last weekend, finishing tied for second with a three-round score of 221. Grauer shot his best round of the tournament on Sunday, carding a 70. The second-place finish tied the best of his career and is also the second time in his Bobcat career that he has finished within the top five of a tournament.
Grauer was only one stroke away from tying for first place in the tournament and turned in five total birdies and one eagle on the weekend.
Paul scored the best of any MAC men’s golfer at the tournament, with Kevin Miller of Kent State scoring the second-best MAC performance at the event, finishing fourth with a score of 222.
Grauer (Dublin, Ohio) was named Golfer of the Week once already this season, earning the honor on Feb. 22.
The Bobcats will next be in action at the Ball State Yestingsmeir Invitational on Apr. 21 and 22. The tournament will take place at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.
