ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University men’s golf team returns to action Monday at the Earl Yestingsmeier Memorial Invitational. The two-day event will take place at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.
The shotgun start will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday. The student-athletes will play 36 holes on Monday and a final 18 holes on Tuesday. Delaware Country Club is a par-70 layout and plays at a distance of 6,438 yards.
The field is composed of 11 teams including a pair of MAC foes. Ohio’s competition is as follows: Ball State, Bethel (Ind.), Chicago State, Franklin, Loyola University Chicago, Marian (Ind.), St. Francis (Ind.), Taylor, Toledo, and Vincennes. Rounding out the competition, Goshen will send individuals to compete.
The Bobcats lineup features Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C.), Andrew Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.), Phil Gieseker (Saline, Mich.), Ty Herriott (Brandywine, Md.), Michael Engelman (Grand Blanc, Mich.) and Brad Burgess (St. Catharines, Ontario). Thomas Leech (Pittsburgh, Pa.) will compete as an individual for Ohio.
Ohio is coming off of a 14th place finish at the NYX Hoosier Invitational. Ohio finished a combined 57-over par (301-303-305-909) as a team.
White led Ohio with a t-35th finish in Bloomington. The Huntersville, N.C., native carded a three-round total of 223 (73-75-75, +10) and ranked second in the field in par 3 scoring (E).
