Bobcat Golf Heads to Respective Tournaments
April 26, 2007 Ohio Golf Weekly Release (.pdf) ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio women's and men's golf teams are ready to participate in their respective tournaments this weekend, the Mid-American Conference Championship, and the FirstEnergy Intercollegiate. Bobcat Women: Mid-American Conference Championship The Ohio women's golf squad will close out the 2006-07 schedule this weekend when it participates in the MAC Championship. This year's installment of the league tournament will be held at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, an hour east of Columbus, and half an hour north and west of Zanesville. Ohio will field a line-up of Meredith Waterston, Kristen Mautz, Shanna Siefke, Katie Stafford and Lindsay Bergman, Colleen Lienesch and Lauren Bergman. The Ohio women finished fifth in the eight-team field a year ago. Tied for 21st, Siefke was the highest Ohio finisher among the golfers on this year's squad. Tournament action will see of 36 holes played on Friday and 18 on Saturday and Sunday. Tee times will begin each day at 8 a.m. Live results will be available via golfstat.com. Bobcat Men: FirstEnergy Intercollegiate After a week off, the Ohio men will travel to Akron for their final tune-up before the MAC Championship when they compete in the FirstEnergy Intercollegiate. The Bobcats will field a lineup of Grant Christman, Mark Cimarolli, James Ellis, Ryan Siekmann and Chad Warmbein. Mark Phillips will compete as an individual. The diverse tournament field will include 17 teams from seven different conferences. The tourney will begin Saturday with 36 holes and a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday's 18 holes will commence at 8 a.m. |
