ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University men's golfer Tim Gusweiler was recently named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar Athlete by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
A total of 119 players in Division I earned the honor. To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Gusweiler was the most active Bobcat this season playing in a team-high 32 rounds and finishing second on the team with a 74.78 stroke average. The Loveland, Ohio native had top-10 finishes at the Xavier Invitational, Dayton Invitational and Palmas Del Mar Collegiate. He also tied for 11th at the UK Bluegrass Invitational.
