Ohio Men's Golf Honored by Golf Coaches Association of America

Aug. 17, 2010

ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University men's golf has been honored as a 2010 Golf Coaches Association of America All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the grade points earned and hours attempted for each player on its official squad list for the academic year. Ohio was one of 113 teams across all three divisions (I, II and III) to finish with a team GPA above 3.0.

In July, Tim Gusweiler was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar Athlete by the GCAA. Requirements for that award stated that the individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.
