Oct. 14, 2012

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio Men’s Golf prepares to compete in its third tournament of the fall season this week, as the Bobcats travel to Muncie, Ind., to compete in the 2012 Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational.

The 54-hole tournament will be played on Monday and Tuesday at the par-70, 6,438-yard Delaware Country Club. Monday will include the first two rounds of the competition while the final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday. Competition will begin each day with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

In a change of format from previous years, the tournament will now be an individual competition with no team scoring. A total of 47 individuals—including six from Ohio—representing nine different schools will compete at the tournament.

Through five rounds in the 2012 season, Byron Firestone (Canton, Ohio) leads the way for the Bobcats. The senior is currently averaging a score of 73.80 through each round of play. Bradley Lucas (Worthington, Ohio) is not far behind, having posted an average of 74.60 through five rounds.

Updates of the tournament will be provided each evening on OhioBobcats.com.
