ATHENS, Ohio – Following an entire fall competition schedule spent apart, Ohio Men’s and Women’s Golf end the 2012 portion of their seasons together on Monday and Tuesday at the Dayton Fall Invitational.
Ohio Men’s Golf will compete on the NCR South Course, which includes 18 holes playing a par of 71 over 7,055 yards. The Bobcats will be competing against one other Mid-American Conference school in Bowling Green and the following 14 schools outside of the conference: Dayton (host), Butler, Chicago State, Detroit, Evansville, IPFW, IUPUI, Loyola Chicago, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Owens, Robert Morris, Valparaiso and Western Kentucky.
The Bobcats are coming off their most recent performance at the 2012 Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational on Oct. 15 and 16. There was no team scoring at the event, but freshman Michael Engelman (Grand Blanc, Mich.) turned in Ohio’s best finish at the tournament by tying for 26th. Michael Lamping (Dublin, Ohio) was not far off this mark, tying for 31st.
Ohio Women’s Golf will compete on the NCR North Course, which includes 18 holes playing a par of 70 over 6,358 yards. The Bobcats will be competing against a field comprised of teams entirely from outside the MAC, as the Green and White will play against Dayton (host), Bellarmine, Chicago State, Alabama State, Detroit, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Findlay, IPFW, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, Otterbein, Robert Morris, Oakland, Valparaiso and Youngstown State.
The Women’s Golf Program just hosted the 2012 Fall Preview at Longaberger Golf Club on the same dates. Ohio finished 11th at this tournament, shooting a two-round team score of 652. Angela Codian (Massilon, Ohio) led the way for the Bobcats at the competition, shooting a 159 to end tied for 20th.
