ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University men's golf freshman Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C.) was named MAC Golfer of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Thursday.
It marked the second time this season that the freshman phenom earned the league honor.
White wrapped up the 2013 fall season in impressive fashion, carding a personal-best 54-hole score of 215 (-1) to finish 10th at the Cobra-Puma Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla., this week.
White notched 18 hole scores of 75 and 72 on day one, before matching his career low round of 68 in final round action on Monday. White finished second in the field in par-3 scoring (-2) and third in total birdies (15). It marked his second top-10 in four starts this fall. White currently ranks second in the Mid-American Conference in stroke average (72.58).
Ohio now takes a four month break before returning to action for its 2014 spring season.
