Virginia high schooler Brian Dillard set to join the Bobcats in 2004-05

ATHENS__ -- Brian Dillard, a senior from Lake Braddock High School in Burke, Va., has signed a national letter of intent to play golf at Ohio, men's head coach Bob Cooley announced recently. Dillard will join the program as a freshman in 2004-05.

Dillard holds a one-under-par 35 stroke average for nine-hole high school matches thus far in his prep golfing career. He won four tournaments in 2002 and finished in the top five eight times in 11 events.

Dillard was named first-team all-district and all-region last year, then earned second-team all-state honors. The senior was also selected by the Washington Post as its Spotlight Athlete Player of the Week during his 2002 campaign.

The future Bobcat holds at 2.9 GPA at Lake Braddock and intends to major in Business during his academic tenure at Ohio.
