BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The Ohio University wrestling team (5-7) rallied back from 15-12 deficit after six bout to claim a 28-18 victory over Gardner-Webb Saturday night in Bost Gymnasium.

The Bobcats' victory over Gardner-Webb gave Ohio its second victory on three match swing down South.

Ohio fell behind 9-0 after two matches, but senior Darrin Boing (Northfield Center, Ohio) snapped the Bobcats' scoreless streak with a pin over GWU's Alex Hamm at 141. Freshman Andrew Romanchik (Independence, Ohio) followed Boing with a pin at 149 to give Ohio a 12-9 lead.

The Runnin' Bulldogs fought back with wins at 157 and 165 to open up a 15-12 lead, but Ohio responded by winning three of the final four bouts. Senior Nick Purdue (Genoa, Ohio), sophomore Ryan Garringer (Downers Grove, Ill.) and senior Jeremy Johnson (Broadview Heights, Ohio) all posted wins to help the Bobcats secure the victory.

Garringer and Johnson each registered their third pins on the weekend. Johnson finished the year going a perfect 11-0 in dual competition.

The Bobcats return to action on March 4 at the 2012 Mid-American Conference Championships in Athens, Ohio.
