Johnson Advances to Day Three Competition at NCAA Championships

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Sophomore Jeremy Johnson will compete for seventh-place at the 2012 NCAA Championships on Saturday against Nick Gwlazdowski from Binghamton.

Johnson (Broadview Heights, Ohio) advanced to the seventh-place match after he posted victories over Oklahoma State's Austin Marsden (8-2), Iowa State's Matthew Gibson (11-2) and Andrew Delaney from the Citadel (Pin 5:25).

In the seventh round of the consolation bracket, Johnson was pinned by Iowa's Bobby Telford.

Sophomore Ryan Garringer (Downers Grove, Ill.) also competed during day two competition at 184, but had his season come to a close as he fell to Binghamton's Nathan Schiedel by an 8-4 count.
