Jeremy Johnson became the 18th wreslter in Ohio University history to place at the NCAA Championships.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Sophomore Jeremy Johnson defeated Binghamton's Nick Gwlazdowski by a count of 11-5 in the seventh-place bout on Saturday at the 2012 NCAA Wrestling Championships in the Scottrade Center.
Johnson (Broadview Heights, Ohio) became Ohio's first All-American since 2010 when Germane Lindsay earned the honor. He became the 18th wrestler in school history to place at the NCAA Championships and just the third wrestler to do so in the last 10 years.
Gwiazdowski jumped out to the early lead with a take down, but Johnson fought right back with an escape to cut the lead in half at 2-1. Johnson then recorded a take down to take a 3-2 lead, but Gwiazdowski tied the match at three with an escape.
Johnson went on to take control of the match as he opened up an 8-3 lead and never looked back to secure the victory.
With the win, Johnson ran his record to 5-2 at the NCAA Championships and 35-7 on the year.
