CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Ohio University wrestling team (1-3) dropped a hard fought 18-17 decision Monday night to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Maclellan Gym.

Ohio's Jeremy Johnson (Broadview Heights, Ohio) gave the Bobcats an early 3-0 lead as he earned a 3-2 decision over Kevin Malone at 285. Johnson's victory was his ninth-consecutive victory.

Junior Gabe Ramos (Hopatcong, N.J.) followed Johnson with a win of his own as he earned major decision over Blake Thomas. Ramos' victory was his second straight win. At 141, senior Darrin Boing (Northfield Center, Ohio) picked up a 14-6 major decision against Shawn Greevy which gave the Bobcats a commanding 11-3 lead through four bouts.

Chattanooga charged back as it claimed the next three bouts to take a 12-11 lead. Senior Nick Purdue (Genoa, Ohio) got the Bobcats back on track as he pinned Levi Clemons which put Ohio back on top 17-12.

The Mocs claimed the match as they picked up victories at 184 and 197.

Ohio returns to action on Sunday as it heads to the Reno Tournament of Champions in Reno, Nev. The match is set to begin at 9 a.m.
