Ohio Ranked No. 28 in the IntermatWrestle.com Poll

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University wrestling team has caught the eye of the collegiate wrestling world as it earned a No. 28 ranking in the latest IntermatWrestle.com poll.

The Bobcats' earned the ranking after defeating Northern Illinois for the fifth-consecutive season last week.

Ohio which owns a 2-1 record in league action opened the year by going 1-2 at the Virginia Duals. Following its season-opening match at Virginia, the Bobcats performed well at the Michigan State Open and the Navy Classic.

The Bobcats opened league competition by falling 23-12 to then No. 12 ranked Central Michigan, but then reeled of victories in each of their next three duals.

Individually, IntermatWrestle.com ranked Ohio's Cody Walters (174) and Jeremy Johnson (Heavyweight) in the Top 20 of their respective weight classes. Walters, who owns a 23-2 mark is ranked No. 17, while Johnson, who sports an impressive 22-7 record is ranked No. 15.

Ohio returns to action on this weekend as it travels to No. 19 Kent State (Friday) and No. 33 Bloomsburg (Sunday).
