ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University wrestling team (2-5; 1-3 MAC) returns to action on Sunday as it heads North on Sunday to take on the University of Buffalo. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
The Bobcats will look to get back on the winning track after dropping a pair of matches last week, falling to Kent State and Bloomsburg.
Ohio is led by sophomore Jeremy Johnson (Broadview Heights, Ohio). Johnson owns a team-best 24-5 record on the year. He is also a perfect 7-0 in duel competition, including wins in his last four bouts.
In last year's meeting, the Bobcats defeated Buffalo by a count of 16-15 in the Convocation Center. Ohio posted victories in three of its final four bouts to pick up the win.
Buffalo will step back into conference play for the first time since its match against Central Michigan on Dec. 10. In its last time out, the Bulls finished fourth at the New York State Collegiate tournament, hosted by Cornell University.
UB's Kevin Smith and Jake Waste each earned individual titles, and with his four wins at the tournament, Smith moved into third place for most career wins, with 117. He now has 48 dual wins as well just three wins away from matching the program's all-time record.
