ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio wrestling team has announced the dates for its two annual summer camps. The Bobcat Kids Camp and the technique/competition camp will both be held July 9-12 at the Convocation Center. Both of Ohio's wrestling camps will feature instruction from camp director and Ohio Head Coach Joel Greenlee and assistant coaches Kyle Hansen and Ozzie Saxon. The camps will also be staffed by members of the Ohio wrestling team to provide individual attention to the campers from Division I athletes. The Bobcat Kids Camp is for wrestlers in kindergarten through fifth grade. The four-day commuter camp is geared for elementary age wrestlers and will take place from 9 a.m. until noon each of the four days. The camp will consist of instructional drilling and games designed to develop the skills of wrestling and put the love of the sport in each young athlete. The cost for the Bobcat Kids Camp is $100. The technique/competition camp is for wrestlers fifth through 12th grade and will cover nearly every imaginable area of wrestling. Each camp session will consist of technique and competition as well as strength and conditioning, mental preparation and nutrition. In-depth instruction and lectures will also be given on weight training, competition and outstanding techniques. The technique/competition camp is $225 for commuters and $350 for those lodging at the university. Due to limited enrollment it is important to register early as sessions are filled in a first-come, first-serve basis. The camp brochure and registration forms are available here. |
