ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University wrestling team (6-5) will look to stay on the winning track this weekend as it heads to Clarion (3-7) on Friday at 7 p.m. and West Virginia (1-8) on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Bobcats enter the weekend after having this past week off.

In their last outing the Bobcats posted a pair of wins as it defeated Buffalo and Michigan State. With the win over the Bulls, Ohio improved to 3-2 in league competition. The `Cats win over Michigan State was their first over the Spartans since the 1929-30 season.

According to IntermatWrestling.com, Ohio checks in at No. 45, while Clarion ranks No. 28 with West Virginia earning the 47th-best spot in the country.

Redshirt freshman Cody Walters (Macedonia, Ohio) leads the way for the Bobcats with a team-best record of 27-2. Walters also enters the weekend with a No. 17 ranking according to IntermatWrestling.com having won eight straight matches. He opened the year with 19 straight wins.

Jeremy Johnson (Broadview Heights, Ohio) is ranked in the Top 20 of the IntermatWrestling.com poll. The junior is currently ranked No. 16 in the country and owns a 25-8 mark. Johnson suffered his eighth loss on the year as he dropped a 3-2 decision on Jan. 27 to No. 7 Michael McClure from Michigan State, which snapped an eight-match losing streak.

Clarion features No. 4-ranked James Fleming at 157-pounds. The Golden Eagle senior has a season record of 24-2 and a career record of 116-18. West Virginia is led by No. 14 Nathan Pennesi, who enters the weekend after he picked up his 20th win this past week at Pittsburgh.
