Ohio Wrestling Goes For Five Straight Wins at Campbell

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University wrestling team (8-5) will be in search of its fifth-straight victory on Sunday as it travels to Campbell for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with the Camels. The meet will be held in Durham, N.C. at the Voyager Academy.

Ohio enters the match in the hopes of claiming its first five-match winning streak since the 2009-10. During that season, the Bobcats won their first six matches to open the season.

Earlier this week, redshirt freshman Spartak Chino (Wheaton, Ill.), redshirt freshman Cody Walters (Macedonia, Ohio), junior Ryan Garringer (Downers Grove, Ill.), redshirt freshman Phil Wellington (Euclid, Ohio) and junior Jeremy Johnson (Broadview Heights, Ohio) were each ranked in the Top 30 of the NCAA Coaches standings, earning rankings of No. 26, No. 11, No. 29, No. 15 and No. 14, respectively.

Walters will look to pick up his 30th win on the year and claim his 11th-consecutive victory on the year. He opened the year with 19 straight wins.

Last week, the Bobcats earned a pair of victories as it defeated Clarion (24-18) and West Virginia (29-9). Sophomore Harrison Hightower (Strongsville, Ohio) and Johnson highlighted the dual for the Bobcats as they registered pins at 165 and heavyweight, respectively. In the win over West Virginia, Ohio trailed by one (9-8), but charged back to win the final five bouts to claim the victory.
