ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University wrestling team (3-6) will head South for a tri-meet with Duke and NC State on Friday at 6:30 p.m. before traveling to Gardner-Webb on Saturday at 7 p.m. for a dual meet.

The Bobcats Southern road trip will be their final tune-up before the 2012 Mid-American Conference Championship at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio.

Ohio will face Duke for the just the second time in school history with the last meeting coming in 2007. In the bout, Ohio defeated the Blue Devils 26-17. The Bobcats will faceoff against NC State for the third-consecutive season. In the previous two meetings, Ohio defeated the Wolfpack at home 33-7 in 2010 and 29-12 a year ago in Raleigh, N.C.

Sophomore Jeremy Johnson (Broadview Heights, Ohio) has been the Bobcats' most consistent competitor this season, posting a team-best 25 wins. Johnson is also undefeated in dual bouts this season.

Redshirt freshman Harrison Hightower (Strongsville, Ohio) and senior Nick Purdue (Genoa, Ohio) have also recorded 17 and 15 wins, respectively.

The Bobcats return to the mat after suffering a 36-3 loss at home on Senior Day to West Virginia. The Mountaineers opened the meet by winning the first seven matches to open up a 27-0 lead.

Hightower was the lone bright spot for the Bobcats as he picked up his 17th victory of the year, following a 6-0 defeat of West Virginia's Dominic Prezzia. Hightower has now won five of his last eight bouts.
