ATHENS, Ohio- Live video streaming of the remaining at-large wrestling bids for the 2010 NCAA Championships will be provided on Wednesday, March 10 via the NCAA’s website. The link can be accessed here.

Ohio Wrestling capped off a successful 2009-10 season with solid performances at the 2010 Mid-American Conference Championships. Erik Schuth (Spencerport, N.Y.) took first place at 197 pounds while Seth Morton (Canal Winchester, Ohio) and Nick Purdue (Genoa, Ohio) took second at 149 and 184 pounds, respectively. All three of the aforementioned wrestlers have earned automatic bids with their performances at the conference tournament.

Hoping to gain at-large bids will be Bobcats Germane Lindsey (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Jacob Ison (Batavia, Ohio). Both have had very good seasons for Ohio, as Lindsey is currently 26-6 and Ison owns a 22-6 record. Lindsey is 9-0 in bonus-point bouts this season, as he is 3-0 in matches decided by pin and a perfect 6-0 in those decided by major decision. Ison’s numbers are equally impressive, as he is 8-2 in bouts decided by pin and 2-2 in those determined by major decision. Each of these two wrestlers “on the bubble”, so to speak, finished third in their respective weight classes at the MAC Tournament.

The NCAA Championships are set to take place from March 18-20 in Omaha, Nebraska.
