CLEVELAND -
Ohio junior Seth Morton (Canal Winchester, Ohio) was named to the 2009 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Wrestling Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. The honor is the second of his career, as he was also named to the 2008 team, and he is one of only six grapplers to make this year's squad.
The physical therapy major posted a 13-14 overall record for the Bobcats this past season, going 12-8 at 141 pounds and 1-6 at 149 pounds. In dual competition, Morton finished the year 6-6, including 0-3 in league action. He put together a four-bout winning streak from Nov. 29 to Dec. 18 as part of his 13 victories, one of nine Bobcats to achieve 10 or more wins on the season.
Ohio wrapped up the 2008-09 campaign with a 9-9-1 overall record, 3-2 in the MAC, and placed sixth at the conference tournament.
