AKRON, Ohio - Ohio wrestling's Josh Speelman (Mansfield, Ohio) competed in the University Greco-Roman National Championships, hosted by the University of Akron, over the weekend and placed seventh in the 66kg bracket.

The Bobcat freshman lost his first-round match to Alex Fleming but defeated John Gochenour in his first consolation bout by pin, advancing to face Bo Beckman. Speelman lost to Beckman, the eventual third-place winner, by decision and moved on to face Josh Palivoda in the seventh-place match. Speelman downed Palivoda by decision to place seventh and earn All-America status.

Speelman was a member of head coach Joel Greenlee's 23rd-ranked recruiting class in 2008.
