Ohio's 2012 Recruiting Class Earns National Recognition

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University Wrestling team's 2012 recruiting class was recently selected as the 25th best recruiting class in the country according to theopenmat.com - one of the nation's top amateur wrestling publications.

The Bobcats are the only wrestling program in the Mid-American Conference that received national recognition from the publication.

"Our staff has staff has worked incredibly hard to bring in some of the best talent in the country to Ohio University," said head coach Joel Greenlee. "This national ranking just validates their hard work throughout the past year."

Ohio's incoming recruiting class consists of six wrestlers and five of the six wrestlers carry a national rank. Among the six newcomers, the group has combined for seven state titles and 18 state placements.

"We are extremely happy with our incoming recruiting class and we can't wait to have these individuals come into our program," Greenlee added.
