ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University wrestling team has added former All-American Germane Lindsey to its coaching staff for the upcoming season. It was announced today by head coach Joel Greenlee.
Lindsey brings an abundance of wrestling experience and skills to the staff. In 2010, he became Ohio's 18th All-American wrestler.
"He has a great deal of passion for the sport of wrestling as well as Ohio University," said Ohio wrestling head coach Joel Greenlee. "Germane is excited to be on our coaching staff and help our student athletes reach their goals on the mat and in the classroom."
Lindsey is no stranger to the Bobcats' coaching staff. During the 2011-2012 season, he served as a volunteer assistant. He replaces former Ohio assistant coach Quincy Osborn, who moved on to take an assistant position at the University of Buffalo.
As a student-athlete, he demonstrated strong leadership skills during his career as he was voted team captain three years in-a-row. Lindsey also played a key role in helping the team earn a Mid-American Conference regular season title in 2011.
Lindsey returns to Athens after serving as an assistant coach at Moeller High School this past season. During the 2012-13 campaign, he helped Moeller place in the top four of the Ohio State Wrestling Tournament. He also coached two state champions at MHS.
In addition, he has been a director at Moeller Kids Summer Wrestling Camp in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Lindsey also served as a camp counselor at the Ohio University Kids' Wrestling Camp during his time as a volunteer assistant and as a student-athlete.
