ATHENS, Ohio- Ohio Wrestling will wrap up the 2009 portion of its schedule by competing in the 2009 Southern Scuffle on Tuesday and Wednesday. The tournament will be held on the University of North Carolina at Greensboro campus and will feature over 400 wrestlers from 30 different teams.
The Bobcats (6-0, 0-0 Mid-American Conference) are coming off a solid week in which they placed three wrestlers in top-three spots en route to finishing tied for fourth (of 25) as a team in the 2009 Reno Tournament of Champions. Just a few days later, three Ohio student-athletes were ranked in the top 20 of their weight classes by Amateur Wrestling News. Germane Lindsey (Cincinnati, Oh.), Nick Purdue (Genoa, Oh.) and Erik Schuth (Spencerport, N.Y.) earned rankings of 16th, 14th and 20th, respectively.

The field also includes five teams ranked in the top 25, as No. 5 Minnesota, No. 8 Cornell, No. 12 Indiana, No. 18 Kent State and No. 22 Old Dominion will all be competing in the tournament.
