SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Ohio University men's cross country team took seventh out of 23 teams in the Gold Race Friday afternoon at the 2013 Notre Dame Invitational. The Bobcats finished with 231 points in the team standings.
Senior Chase Robinson (Navarre, Ohio) was the first Bobcat to cross the finish line as he finished in a time of 26:05.9. Robinson's time was good enough for 20th place.
Sophomore Kurt Steinmuller (Stonybrook, N.Y.) was the next runner for the Green and White to come across the line as he finished the race in a time of 26:41.6. Steinmuller's time was good enough for 46th place.
Fellow sophomore Jacob Stephens (Bellbrook, Ohio) came in just three spots behind Steinmuller as he placed 52nd in a time of 26:43.6.
John Crain from North Central (Ill.) won the Gold Race in a time of 25:15.2, while Grand Valley State took home the team title, finishing with 40 points.
Ohio returns to action on Oct. 19 as it travels to Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
