TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Ohio University men's cross country team placed 26th in the 2011 Pre-National Invitational Sunday afternoon. The Bobcats were one of 35 teams that took part in the race.
The Bobcats were one of three teams that competed from the Mid-American Conference that competed. Central Michigan was the top team from the MAC as it placed 17th. Toledo finished one spot behind Ohio in 27th place overall.
Junior Tyler Ames (Cortland, Ohio) paced Ohio as he clocked a time of 25:45 to place 100th. Junior Noah Howkins (Stow, Ohio) and sophomore Chase Robinson (Navarre, Ohio) also finished in the top 150 as they placed 123rd (25:58) and 146th (26:16).
Colorado won the men's team title with 82 points with Portland scoring 104 for second and edging out Iona who was third with 109 points.
Ohio will take a week off before it heads to the 2011 MAC Championship. The meet is set to begin at Noon in Muncie, Ind.
