Ohio Men Finish Seventh at MAC Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Ohio University men's cross country team took seventh Saturday at the 2012 Mid-American Conference Championships. The meet was held at Beaver Island State Park and was hosted by the University of Buffalo.

Senior Tyler Ames (Cortland, Ohio) was the Bobcats' top finisher as he took 19th, finishing in a time of 25:28.9.

Sophomore Jacob Stephens (Bellbrook, Ohio) was the next Ohio finisher as he placed 33rd in a time of 25:58.5. Freshman Jarrod Genther (Canal Winchester, Ohio) was the third Bobcat finisher as he tallied a 36th place finish, clocking in a time of 26:02.6.

As a team, Ohio finished with 176 points, placing just 12 points behind Kent State.

Ohio will take a week off from competition before heading off to the NCAA Regionals in Madison Wisc.
