BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Ohio University men's cross country team posted a fourth-place finish at the 2013 Mid-American Conference Championship on Saturday. The Bobcats' fourth-place finish was their best finish since 2007.
Saturday afternoon's 8-kilometer race was held at the Forrest Creason Golf Course on the campus of Bowling Green State University. Ohio finished the event with 121 points.
Sophomore Jacob Stephens (Bellbrook, Ohio) led the way for the Bobcats as he finished 19th in a time of 25:46.59.
Not far behind Stephens was sophomore Kurt Steinmuller (Stonybrook, N.Y.), who finished 23rd in a time of 25:53.25. Senior Chase Robinson (Navarre, Ohio) came in two seconds later in a time of 25:55.41 to take 24th.
Ohio's top six finished within 20 seconds of each other.
Eastern Michigan won the league, finishing with 42 points. Buffalo's Zachary Ahart won the individual crown, finishing in a time of 24:47.60.
The Bobcats return to action on Nov. 15 to take part in the 2013 NCAA Regional Championship in Madison, Wisc.
