Ohio Men Claim 14th at the Great Lakes Regional

2013 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship Central

MADISON, Wis. - The Ohio University men's cross country team finished 14th Friday afternoon at the 2013 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship. The meet was held at the Zimmer Championship Course.

Ohio tallied 431 points to finish ahead of MAC foes Kent State, Central Michigan, Toledo and Bowling Green, which posted 445, 484, 572, and 675 points, respectively.

The Bobcats placed four runners in the top 100 of the 207 runners in the field.

Sophomore Jacob Stephens (Bellbrook, Ohio) was the top Ohio finisher for the second straight race as he finished 68th in a time of 32:13.

Senior Chase Robinson (Navarre, Ohio) turned in a strong performance and finished 81st in a time of 32:30.

Senior Brandon O’Malley and Sophomore Jarrod Genther (Canal Winchester, Ohio) finished within seconds of each other, placing 88th and 91st with times of 32:45 and 32:47, respectively.

Sophomore Jake Gentile barely missed cracking the top 100, finishing 103rd with a time of 33:05.

Michigan won the meet with a team total of 70 points. Indiana State’s John Mascari won the meet in a mark of 30:05.
