WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Ohio men's cross country team competed at the Wake Forest Open in the distance events on March 20th and 21st as part of its spring season. Junior Ridge Robinson (Navarre, Ohio) claimed the 5,000-meter title, while senior Shamus Eaton (Uniontown, Ohio) picked up a top-10 finish in the same event.

In the 800-meter run, Kevin Kappers (Cincinnati, Ohio) placed 15th with a time of 1:56.24 and Scott Wildermuth (Canal Winchester, Ohio) took 29th, finishing in 1:57.51. Freshmen Joey Cherico (Strongsville, Ohio) and Dan O'Brien (Wexford, Pa.) took 71st and 87th, respectively.

In the 1,500 meters, Robinson came in 16th with a mark of 4:01.29, while Wildermuth took 24th and Aadam Soorma (Canton, Ohio) finished 31st. Also, Eaton placed 42nd, Kappers 55th, Cherico 86th and O'Brien 94th in the event.

Soorma also turned in a 17th-place effort in the 3,000 meter run, while Chris Davis (Reedsville, Ohio) placed 21st and Chris Myers (Milford, Ohio) took 27th. Sophomore Sean Kelley (Canton, Ohio) and senior Jeremy Wolfe (Gallipolis, Ohio) came in 37th and 38th, respectively.

Davis and senior Chad Toussant (Minerva, Ohio) also competed in the 5,000 and finished 23rd and 27th, respectively. Freshman Matt Michno (Kettering, Ohio) placed 28th, while Kelley, Wolfe and freshman Dan Quarfoot (Barrington, Ill.) finished 51st, 52nd and 54th, respectively.

The Bobcats will compete again this weekend in the Green & White Invitational and later in the All-Ohio Championships on April 17-18 and the Hillsdale Relays on April 24-25.
