ATHENS, Ohio -
Ohio University will hold a distance running camp for high school and middle-school aged runners this summer. The dates for the camp are July 20-23 and will be held on the campus of Ohio University.
Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the Athens area is a unique place to train for runners, as it offers scenic routes and trails, a flat and well-maintained Hocking-Adena bike path, and countless hills.
Those in attendance will have a chance to work with the Ohio University Cross Country and Track and Field staff, as well as some current and former members of the cross country teams. It is our hope to provide young runners an educational and fun environment to help improve performance, learn more about the sport, and form friendships with other runners.
Registration has begun. Prospective campers can save $25 if they register prior to July 8 and can save another $15 for a team discount if five or more members of the same team attend the camp. Each camper will receive an Ohio University running camp t-shirt and blank running log to keep track of the miles they run throughout the year.
