Men's Cross Country Picked Seventh in MAC Preseason Poll

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University men's cross country team was selected to finish seventh in the preseason poll released by the Mid-American Conference.

Sophomores Jacob Stephens (Bellbrook, Ohio) and Jarrod Genther (Canal Winchester, Ohio) return to the squad this season after they finished second and third on the team a year ago at the league championship. As a team, Ohio placed seventh at the 2012 MAC Championship, finishing with 176 points.

Eastern Michigan was selected as the preseason favorite to win the MAC championship.

The men's squad kicks things off with a trip to Oxford, Ohio to face the Miami RedHawks on Sept. 7 at 10:30 a.m. In addition, Ohio will host its lone home meet of the fall on Sept. 14, when it plays host to the Ohio Invitational.
