2013 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship Central

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University men's cross country team travels to the 2013 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship on Friday, Nov. 15. The 10-kilometer race begins at noon and will take place at the Zimmer Championship Course on the University of Wisconsin campus.

The Great Lakes Region is comprised of schools in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The Bobcats will compete against MAC foes, as well as teams from the Big East, Big Ten, and Horizon league. Ohio will go head-to-head with runners from the nationally-ranked Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame squads.

The Bobcats enter the regional meet riding the momentum of their fourth-place finish at the Mid-American Conference Championship on Nov. 2 at Bowling Green State University. Ohio’s performance in the championship was its best since 2007. Ohio’s top six runners finished within 20 seconds of each other at the meet, which was held on Nov. 2 at Bowling Green State University.

Sophomore Jacob Stephens (Bellbrook, Ohio) led the way for the Bobcats as he finished 19th in a time of 25:46.59. Not far behind Stephens was sophomore Kurt Steinmuller (Stonybrook, N.Y.), who finished 23rd in a time of 25:53.25. Senior Chase Robinson (Navarre, Ohio) came in two seconds later in a time of 25:55.41 to take 24th.
