TOLEDO, Ohio -- The Ohio men's golf team finished in 13th place at the Inverness Intercollegiate at Toledo's Inverness Club. The Bobcats combined to total a team score of 592 (+24) after rounds of 293 (+9) and 299 (+15) on Monday (Sept. 18). The final 18 holes of the tournament were scheduled to be played on Tuesday (Sept. 19), but play was cancelled due to heavy rain and lightning.
St. Mary's won the Inverness Intercollegiate with a 558 (-10) after carding round scores of 280 (-4) and 278 (-6). Michigan State sophomore Kaleb Johnson and Oklahoma State junior Nick Heinen tied for tournament medalist honors with matching scores of 134 (-8). Johnson logged rounds of 65 (-6) and 69 (-2) while Heinen tallied round scores of 68 (-3) and 66 (-5).
For Ohio, redshirt senior Tom Nettles (McMurray, Pa.) and senior Brady Bohl (Dublin, Ohio) tied for 54th place with matching scores of 148 (+6). Nettles shot rounds of 73 (+2) and 75 (+4) while Bohl compiled round scores of 76 (+5) and 72 (+1).
Freshman Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) tied for 62nd after shooting rounds of 74 (+3) and 75 (+4) to bring his total to 149 (+7).
Junior Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio) shot rounds of 72 (+1) and 78 (+7) for a total of 150 (+8), putting him in a tie for 65th.
Redshirt freshman Adam Stephens (Dublin, Ohio) tied for 69th with a 151 (+9). He totaled rounds of 74 (+3) and 77 (+6).
Ohio will host the 27th Annual Bobcat Open on Sept. 25 at The Lakes Golf and Country Club in Westerville, Ohio. The Bobcat Open serves as a fundraiser for Ohio's men's and women's golf teams.
The Bobcats will return to competition Oct. 2-3 at the Firestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
