PINEHURST, N.C. -- The Ohio men's golf team remained in 13th place at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate after combining to tally a second-round 301 (+17) on Saturday (March 10) at Pinehurst No. 8, bringing the Bobcats' two-round total score to 627 (+59).
The Bobcats opened up the tournament by combining to score a 326 (+26) in the first round on Friday (March 9).
Old Dominion moved up two spots and into first place after combining to total a 295 (+11) in the second round, bringing its total score to 595 (+27). Ball State senior Michael VanDeventer remained the tournament leader with a 143 (+1). After carding a 71 (E) in the first round on Friday, he shot a 72 (+1) in the second on Saturday.
Redshirt senior Tom Nettles (McMurray, Pa.), junior Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio), freshman Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) and freshman Tanner Johnson (Venetia, Pa.) are tied with four others for 54th place with identical scores of 157 (+15). After shooting an 80 (+9) in the first round, Nettles carded a 77 (+6) in the second on Saturday. Satter followed up a first-round 81 (+10) with a second-round 76 (+5). Crawford climbed up 15 spots on the leaderboard thanks to a second-round 73 (+2) on Saturday after he posted an 84 (+13) in the first round on Friday. After recording a first-round 82 (+11) on Friday, Johnson moved up 10 spots courtesy of a second-round score of 75 (+4).
Senior Brady Bohl (Dublin, Ohio) is in a tie with two others for 76th place with a total score of 168 (+26). He shot an 83 (+12) in the first round on Friday, then recorded an 85 (+14) in second-round action on Saturday.
The third and final round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate will be held on Sunday (March 11).
