Va. -- The Ohio men's golf team is in 12th place with a combined team score of 313 (+25) after one round of play of the 2018 Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational today at Pete Dye Golf Club. Second-round play was suspended due to darkness and will resume on Tuesday (Oct. 9), with the third and final round following the conclusion of the second round.
Tournament host West Virginia paced the field by five strokes with a combined team score of 289 (+1) in the first round. Winthrop senior Sawyer Mills posted a first-round 68 (-4) to lead the individual leaderboard by one stroke through one round of play.
Senior Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio) was tied for 22nd with a 76 (+4) to lead the Bobcats in the first round. Sophomore Austin Dyson (Dublin, Ohio) was tied for 37th with a 78 (+8). Sophomore Tanner Johnson (Venetia, Pa.) shot a 79 (+7) in the first round, which had him tied for 45th. Sophomore Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) posted a first round 80 (+8), tying him for 52nd. Sophomore Zach Mandry (Solon, Ohio) was tied for 64th with an 82 (+10).
