ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio softball team has added Brooke Donovan to the staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2017-18 season, head coach Jodi Hermanek announced today.
"Brooke is an awesome addition to our staff," Hermanek said. "She joins the Bobcats with collegiate coaching experience, and in my opinion, we are lucky to have found such a driven individual."
Donovan comes to Athens after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach and graduate assistant at Wesley College. While at Wesley, Donovan earned her Master's Degree in Sport Leadership.
"I'd like to thank Jodi for giving me the opportunity to work with such a respected program," Donovan said. "I am so excited to meet the players and begin working with the coaching staff throughout the season."
Prior to her stint at Wesley, Donovan was four-year starter at Costal Carolina. While there she held a .243 batting average with 158 hits in 648 at bats. She recorded 34 doubles, 10 home runs and 65 RBI. She also holds the program record with 234 games played and started. In 2012 she was named to the Big South All-Tournament Team after helping guide Coastal Carolina to the Big South Tournament Title.
"There has been so much positive energy and I can't wait to see where that will take us this season," Donovan said.
