Bringing with him a wealth of experience from the University of Tennessee Women's Basketball program, Dustin Edwards joined the Ohio University Women's Basketball staff in the summer of 2011. Edwards earned his Master of Sports Psychology degree from the University of Tennessee.
Edwards began his coaching career in Madison, N.C., leading the Women's Basketball, Women's Volleyball and Women's Golf programs at Madison County High School from 2004-06. He engineered an impressive turnaround of the Women's Basketball program, winning 20 total games in the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.
Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee, was the next stop for Edwards. He worked as an assistant coach for the Men's Basketball program from 2006-09, helping to lead the program to a record of 60-31 through three seasons. While in Johnson City, Edwards coached and recruited nine All-Conference selections.
Edwards then worked at both basketball programs at the University of Tennessee, serving as a Graduate Assistant for the Men's Basketball team from June 2009 to September 2010 before taking over as the Video Coordinator for the Women's Basketball program. While working for UT, Edwards maintained the recruiting database, analyzed game film, created highlight videos and assisted with on-campus recruiting.
As a player, Edwards was a four-year All-Conference selection at Carson Newman College, where he graduated with a Bachelors of History in 2003. He was the team's captain during the 2002 and 2003 seasons. Edwards then played one season in the NBA Pro Summer League.
Edwards married his wife, Michelle, in May 2011.
