Norbert Spivey begins his first season with the Ohio women's basketball team during the 2011-12 season. He will serve as the Director of Operations.
"I believe Norbert's familiarity with the Mid-American Conference will pay dividends during his time at Ohio University," head coach Semeka Randall said. "He is no stranger to women's basketball and has been around the game his whole life. His mother Edith, was the long-time head coach at East Shaw High School in Cleveland."
Spivey began with the Zips women's basketball program in 2008 when he was a team manager and video coordinator for the team. In this position, he coordinating and edited all filming for practices, games and player development. During the 2010-11 season, Spivey served as a graduate assistant.
Since 2006, Spivey has worked with a number of basketball camps across the country. Most recently, he was the assistant camp director at Kingdom Lesson Ministries in Leesburg, Fla. Spivey also spent two summers as an intern at the Lebron James King Academy in San Diego, Calif., and Akron.
Prior to his stint with the women's basketball program at Akron, Spivey worked with the Akron football team from 2006-08, where he served as a student team manager.
