Recap |  Box Score

Junior Lauren Kohn

On key 3 point shot down the stretch:

"I was having a rough night from the 3 tonight, but coming down the stretch you can't be afraid to shoot, can't be afraid to make big plays. You've got to step up in crunch time. My teammates and coaches were encouraging me to keep shooting; they had confidence in me so that really helped. I was just lucky enough to hit down the shot."

On the flow of the game:

"I think in any basketball game it's a game of runs. You're going to go on a run; the opposing team is going to go on a run. Like our coaches say, you've just got to weather the storm. You've got to play consistent the whole way through, and if you do that you're going to come out on top in the end."

Junior Quintana Ward

On her performance:

"With Simone out, I know as a point guard that I need to make things happen, and I need to make sure we can pull out a win regardless of what the circumstances are. I just do whatever I can, if the team needs more points I'll take it upon my shoulders and do what I can."

On the struggles towards the end of the game:

"I think (Stephanie) Bennett got hot. We had a couple of defensive breakdowns, and she got hot and hit a couple pretty good shots. They went on a run, which we expected. We just held it out, and came out with a "W."

On Saturday's game against Bowling Green:

"They came out and beat Buffalo by 30. We are just so pumped right now for this game. Hopefully we'll have Simone back, so that'll really help. We're just really trying to take pride in our home floor and take care of business."

Coach Silvia Crawley

On tonight's performance:

"Any win is a good win for us. I was very pleased with the effort of the team tonight. I thought late in the stretch we made better decisions as far of time/score situations and getting stops."

On how it feels to pick up her first MAC win:

"Very good. Tonight we had the opportunity to be 4th in the league or last in the league, because we were 0-2, Akron was 0-2, and Buffalo was 0-2. It just feels good to get that first win under our belt so we can shake that off our backs and roll up our sleeves for BG on Saturday."

On the status of junior Simone Redd:

"We'll be activating her on Friday, so we will have everybody. We will be full strength for Saturday. I thought Jennifer Bushby played very well in her first start."
