Sophomore Rachel Frederick
"I think Saturday opened our eyes a lot. We know that we weren't that team. We wanted to come out and play Ohio basketball today. We came out real strong in the first half. Even in the beginning of the second half, and then Northern Illinois came back and played us tight at the very end."
On the team's season to this point:
"We're not satisfied. Ten wins is a good accomplishment compared to last year, but our eyes are on the prize a lot farther into the season, and get more wins."
On the upcoming game at Ball State:
"Ball State is a great team this year. They're leading the west. They're doing some good things. We are going to go in and try to steal a win on the road. Come out with the same intensity that we came out with today, and put together a 40 minute game, and hopefully we can steal the win, and shock the MAC."
Freshman Jennifer Bushby
On her performance:
"I really don't know how it happened. I missed practice yesterday because I was sick. Today we went around the locker room and we all had to look each other in the eye and say I'm going to give my best for us to win tonight, and that's basically what I wanted to do."
Coach Silvia Crawley
"I think just our will to win helped us tonight. We had an all out effort by our whole entire team. One thing that we learned from this game is that when we have a lead, and there is a little bit of time left on the clock that we would rather give up a 2 then a 3. They kept driving penetrating to the basket, our weak side was helping and they would kick it out for a 3 point shot. We are a young team. This is the first time that we faced that type of situation in the end of a game. We'll learn from that, make those corrections, and try not to let that happen again. I just thought that we had a lot of people sacrifice for the good of the team today."
On the win:
"Great team effort tonight. This team played hard for me tonight. This is our tenth win. They only won nine games last year. So, we are a little bit better then they were last year."
