ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio (12-10, 5-5) women's basketball team lost to conference foe Toledo (8-14, 4-6), 53-52, on Thursday night.

Junior Lauren Kohn (Adrian, Mich.) and freshman Jennifer Bushby (Gahanna, Ohio) were the only Bobcats to score in double figures. Kohn led all scorers with 17 points as she shot 7-for-16 from the field and a perfect 2-for-2 from the free throw line. Bushby was 4-for-8 from the field and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. She also had six assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Senior Domenica Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) chipped in nine points and nine rebounds, she also had two steals. Sophomore Rachel Frederick (Gibsonia, Pa.) added seven points.

Danielle Bishop and Olivia Terry had 13 points each for Toledo. Ta'Yani Clark had 11.

An 11-2 run late in the second half lifted the Rockets from a six-point deficit to a three-point advantage, 53-50. Bishop scored seven points in the run and Savannah Werner had four.

Kohn was fouled by Bishop with 49 seconds on the clock and connected on two free throws to pull the `Cats within one at 53-52.

Clark was fouled by Bushby with three seconds remaining but missed both free throw attempts giving Ohio a last shot for the victory. Ward put up a triple in the closing seconds that bounced off the side of the rim.

"We're okay, we're going to regroup, we're going to watch the film, learn from our mistakes tonight and get ready for Eastern Michigan," said Head Coach Sylvia Crawley.

The Bobcats shot 36.8 percent from the field, connecting on 21-of-57 attempts and nailed 7-of-19 from arc. They shot 75 percent in limited action at the free throw line. The `Cats were 3-of-4 from the charity stripe, which included Kohn's deuce and one by Silva.

Ohio continues its road trip at Eastern Michigan on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
