Recap |  Box Score

Junior Lauren Kohn

On her performance:

"We knew as soon as we went into overtime that we were going to win this game. I mean after that our team was just so excited, so pumped, and with that kind of momentum there's no way you can go into overtime and lose."

Junior Simone Redd

On her performance: "The past couple of games I've only been able to play limited minutes. So I was really surprised that I played an extended time period today. I just want to go out there and do whatever I can to help my team win."

Sophomore Rachel Frederick

On her team's performance:

"Since I've been here we haven't beat Kent State. The games that we have played against them haven't been that close of games, so I think that shows a lot of how we played against them. Last time at their place just a month ago, how much we've improved and we buckled down and fought until the end."

On the upcoming game against Miami:

"We split with Miami last year, and we played them very close at their place. They're down right now; they're looking for a win. We just need to continue to play hard."

Coach Silvia Crawley

On the end of the game:

"We tweaked a play that we normally run from the sidelines, and it broke down a little bit at the end. Someone didn't set a screen that they were supposed to set. We just tried to attack the basket. We knew that we were in the bonus, I just told them to attack. I thought late in the game we had opportunities to attack. We drew the defense in, and we kicked it out. We were settling for the three point shot. Meanwhile they were attacking the basket aggressively and were getting to the free throw line. At the end of the game we drove and that's when they call a charge on us. I argued with the call a little bit, because I didn't think she was set. But, the referees were the ones making the calls, and we have to live with that. Then, there was another play that happened where at the end of the game they called a foul, and Lauren Kohn was able to make her free throws."

On where the team goes from here:

"This game was huge for us because it was our first overtime win and it also moved us within one game of second-place in our division. The game (upcoming game against Miami) is huge for us just because of the history, and also because we still have a shot of getting a first-round bye in the MAC tournament. We have to try to win the rest of our games, but we still have a shot."
