BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Ohio University women's basketball team (9-18, 4-12 MAC) suffered a 63-39 loss at Bowling Green (25-3, 15-1 MAC) in a Mid-American Conference clash on Sunday (March 2) at the Stroh Center.

Freshman guard Yamonie Jenkins (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) scored a career-high 12 points to pace the `Cats. She also dished out a team-high two assists.

Junior guard Mariah Byard (Mannington, W. Va.) chipped in eight points, knocking down two treys. Redshirt sophomore guard Kat Yelle (Geneva, Ill.) added seven points.

Freshman forward Destini Cooper (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) hauled in a team-high seven rebounds.

The Falcons jumped out to a 19-3 advantage to open the game, but the `Cats cut the deficit to 10 (21-11) with just over seven minutes left in the first half thanks in large part to a three by Byard and two layups by Yelle.

A trey by Jenkins with 57 seconds left in the opening stanza shaved Bowling Green's lead to nine (25-16).

The Falcons took a 28-16 lead into halftime, then came out of the break scoring the first 10 points of the second half to pull away from Ohio.

With two games remaining in the 2013-14 regular season, the Bobcats currently occupy the No. 10 spot in the league standings. If the MAC Tournament started today, Ohio would visit No. 7-seeeded Ball State (12-15, 7-9 MAC) in a First Round matchup on March 10 in Muncie, Ind.

Ohio hosts MAC rival Kent State on Wednesday (March 5) in its 2013-14 home finale at the Convocation Center. The opening tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
