Ohio Sophomore Rachel Frederick:
Teams inside presence:
"In our last game we emphasized on rebounding and I tried to keep that in mind this game too. Rebounding is something you can control unlike everything else."
On playing after Thanksgiving break:
"We had two practices on Friday. We came in and got things done and looked good. It was good to know that we can take a break and come back and be ready to go. We went away thinking about Butler and we came back ready to perform."
On finding the right time to score:
"Right now our team has so many weapons. We're going to stop the inside game and get you on the outside and vice versa. It's important for any solid team to have so many options."
On the three-game winning streak:
"We're trying to make a statement that we are a new team and that our eye is on the MAC Championship."
Ohio Junior Quintana Ward:
On her performance this season:
"I really worked hard in the off season. To me, it's really mental. I know I can get the assists, I just have to make sure that I take care of the ball. I have so many people around me that can do so many things. I can keep the ball up the floor and we never really loose our flow. I thank my teammates."
On defending Butler:
"Our coaches did a great job on the scouting report. Butler has really good shooters we worked really hard defending some of their plays. Defense has been a really big emphasis for us this year and getting out and stopping somebody. We know that we can score, it's just a matter of going out and playing defense.
On winning three in a row:
"I think the sky is the limit. We have so many weapons and so many people can score. It's really hard to guard us and to scout us because we have so many people that can do so many things."
Ohio Head Coach Sylvia Crawley:
On coming back from Thanksgiving Break:
"We had two days off for Thanksgiving and I was hoping that I wouldn't regret it. But we came back and had two practices and the team was energetic and ready to go. We focused a lot on Butler. They didn't have a lot of time to prepare for us so we wanted to take advantage of that.
On Simone Redd and Lauren Kohn:
"In our last two games Simone and Lauren had really spectacular games, so we knew that they would try to focus on them. I met with our post players today and asked them to attack inside, to be aggressive and more dominant. That's what they did tonight. The good thing is that we have five people willing to step up. They're waiting on their turn and preparing for when their opportunity comes.
On Quintana Ward:
"She's a good decision maker and a very consistent person, that's just her personality. The best thing that has ever happen to Q is Jennifer Bushby and Jennifer Poff. They push her every single day in practice and it's making her a better player. She's consistently giving us eight to ten points and at least six assists. She's going to the be the X factor for our team.
