Ohio's Kohn Named First-Team All-MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ohio senior Lauren Kohn has been named to the All-MAC First Team, annouced by the league office today. Kohn has led Ohio in scoring all season and currently averages a team-best 16.3 points per game, which is second best in the conference. Kohn has scored in double figures in 24 games this season and has scored 20 or more points in eight games. Kohn has been perfect at the free-throw line in 11 games, while being one of the top eight players in the country in the free throw percentage category. This season Kohn surpassed 1,000 career points. She has scored 1,377 points altogether, including 955 of them as an Ohio player. She was named to the 2007-08 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Women's Basketball Second Team. Kohn is only the second Ohio women's basketball player to ever receive an Academic All-America nod. Ohio's all-time leading scorer Caroline Mast (1982-86) earned first-team Academic All-America honors in 1986 and second-team honors in 1985. Joining Kohn on the All-MAC First Team are Kate Achter of Bowling Green, Porchia Green of Ball State, and Amanda Jackson of Miami. Achter was also named the MAC Player of the Year. |
