Ohio Women's Basketball's Black, Lampkins Earn MAC Honors

Ohio women's basketball guard Quiera Lampkins earned a spot on the 2014 Mid-American Conference All-Freshman Team.

CLEVELAND - Ohio University women's basketball's sophomore guard Kiyanna Black (Columbus, Ohio) garnered 2014 All-Mid-American Conference Honorable Mention while freshman guard Quiera Lampkins (Gahanna, Ohio) earned a place on the conference's All-Freshman Team, as announced by the conference office on Monday (March 10).

Black has appeared in 28 games, making 12 starts at guard, and is averaging 24.1 minutes per contest. She leads the team in scoring with 13.6 points per game and has led team in scoring a team-high 14 times. Black has reached double figures in scoring a team-high 17 times. She has scored 20 or more points seven times.

Black, who earned All-Freshman Team recognition in 2013, has started 29 of the 57 career games she's played in, totaling 659 points (11.6 per game). She is a career 32.9% shooter -- including 27.9% from three-point range. Black has reached double figures in scoring 31 times in her career and has scored at least one point in 54 of 57 career games.

Lampkins has started all 29 games at guard, averaging a team-high 27.9 minutes per contest. She ranks second on the team with 10.9 points per game and has reached double figures in scoring 15 times -- including 13 of the last 20 games. Lampkins has led the team in scoring seven times and in rebounds seven times.

No. 11-seeded Ohio (9-20, 4-14 MAC) begins its postseason march as it travels to No. 6-seeded Toledo (15-15, 9-9 MAC) for a 2014 MAC Tournament First Round contest tonight at 7 p.m. ET at Savage Arena.
